Thank you for your letter encouraging prompt Commission review ofthe spectrum
transactions proposed by AT&T/Quaicomm, DISH Network/DBSD/TerreStar, and
Verizon/SpectrumCo. I value your views and will ensure that your letter is included in the
record for these proceedings.
We are in agreement on the importance ofmaking more spectrum available for mobile
broadband, and I appreciate your efforts to give the Commission the authority to conduct
voluntary incentive auctions in the recent payroll tax legislation passed by Congress. The
Commission approved the AT&T/Qualcomm transaction in December 20 II, and the DISH
Network, el ai, transaction in March 2012. Please be assmed that the Commission is undeltaking
a thorough, rigorous, and fact-based review ofthe proposed Verizon/SpectrumCo transaction,
consistent with our statutory obligations under the Communications Act, and will complete its
review as expeditiously as possible.
