Station WLDR-FM Traverse City, Michigan NOTICE OF UNLICENSED OPERATION Case Number: EB-FIELDNER-12-0003533 Document Number: W201332360003 On September 5, 2012, an agent from this office responded to a complaint concerning interference on the frequency 947.00 MHz to a licensed user in Traverse City, Michigan. Using direction finding techniques, the agent determined that the source of the interference was unlicensed radio signals on 947.0 MHz that were from emanating from the main studio of Station WLDR-FM, Traverse City, Michigan, licensed to Great Northern Broadcasting System, Inc. (Great Northern). Further investigation revealed that Great Northern was operating a studio-to- transmitter link for Station WLDR-FM on 947.00 MHz. The Commission’s records show that no license was issued for operation of a studio to transmitter link on 947.000 MHz at this location in Traverse City, Michigan. Radio stations must be licensed by the FCC pursuant to 47 U.S.C. § 301. You are hereby warned that operation of radio transmitting equipment without a valid radio station authorization constitutes a violation of the Federal laws cited above and could subject the operator to severe penalties, including, but not limited to, substantial monetary fines, in rem arrest action against the offending radio equipment, and criminal sanctions including imprisonment. (see 47 U.S.C. §§ 401, 501, 503 and 510). UNLICENSED OPERATION OF THIS STUDIO-TO-TRANSMITTER LINK MUST BE DISCONTINUED IMMEDIATELY. You have ten (10) days from the date of this notice to respond with any evidence that you have authority to operate granted by the FCC.
