CLYBURN ANNOUNCES STAFF CHANGES Federal Communications Commissioner Mignon L. Clyburn today announced the departure of Angie Kronenberg and the appointment of Rebekah Goodheart as Acting Wireline Legal Advisor. Kronenberg has been serving as Clyburn’s Wireline Legal Advisor since December 2009 and has provided advice on a wide variety of wireline, broadband, disabilities access, and universal service matters. “Angie has been instrumental in the protection of consumers and the advancement of competition in her three plus years as my legal advisor, the Commissioner said. Her effective collaboration throughout the agency as well as with industry, public interest and consumer organizations, and other governmental bodies, including Congress and the states, has been invaluable. Her leadership on both the Joint Boards and Joint Conference resulted in an on- time and salient Recommended Decision on the Lifeline program in 2010, as well as the Broadband Summit focusing on adoption earlier this year. Angie successfully negotiated additional protections for consumers in the Open Internet proceeding and merger conditions in several major transactions, including the Comcast/NBCU transaction, which led to the low- income broadband adoption program “Internet Essentials”. In addition, she worked tirelessly on the reforms of all four USF programs, helping to preserve telephone service and the further advancement of broadband throughout the nation. Angie’s commitment to public service is particularly evident in the Commission’s review of inmate calling services and the rates charged to families, and she has been a protector for telecommunications access to those with disabilities and low-income families through the Lifeline program.” “Angie has been a faithful public servant, an excellent and wise counsel, and will be greatly missed throughout the agency, but most especially in my office. I wish her all the best as she departs the Commission.” “I have had the opportunity to work with Rebekah throughout the development and adoption of USF/ICC reform and the technology transition policy task force, and am pleased that she has agreed to join my office as a legal advisor. She’s a talented attorney and experienced manager, with extensive knowledge of the wireline issues.” Prior to joining the Commissioner’s office, Angie Kronenberg served as Special Counsel in the Spectrum & Competition Policy Division of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Before coming to the FCC, she practiced telecommunications and media law for over a decade in the Washington, D.C. office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP. Angie holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Columbus School of Law at The Catholic University of America. She also earned a certification from The Institute for Communications Law Studies at the Columbus School of Law and holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Baylor University where she also was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Rebekah Goodheart has worked at the Commission since January 2008, most recently serving as Deputy Director of the Technology Transitions Policy Task Force and Associate Chief of the Wireline Competition Bureau. She previously served as a Senior Policy Advisor for the Omnibus Broadband Initiative, developing many of the recommendations in National Broadband Plan. She also served as Assistant Division Chief in the Industry Analysis Division of the Media Bureau. Prior to joining the Commission, Rebekah served as a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division in the Telecommunications and Media Enforcement Section, and was an associate at the law firm Wiley Rein LLP. Rebekah holds a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a B.S.F.S., cum laude, from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service. --FCC--
