BRAD SHERMAN UNITED STATES CONGRESS The Honorable Mignon Clyburn Acting Chairwoman Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street SW Washington, DC 20554 Dear Madam Chairwoman: _ ' f~..~;\:., - " ' August 23, 2013 SEP 032013 FCC Mail Room PH: (202) 225-5911 FAX: (202) 225-5879 I am writing to express my concern about the ongoing retransmission consent dispute between Time Warner Cable and CBS. I recognize that the current dispute is over a commercial agreement in which two private companies are negotiating and making decisions based on what is best for their own businesses. However, I am concerned about CBS's decision to block Time Warner Cable's broadband customers from accessing their free website. By blocking all Time Warner Cable broadband subscribers, CBS is using internet subscribers as leverage in a commercial dispute. Many of my constituents are eager to regain access to CBS content. I hope that you will begin to address the continuing problem of retransmission consent and its effect on internet freedom. I also request that you work with both parties to resolve their differences and finalize negotiations quickly. I look forward to a favorable outcome for my constituents. Thank you for your consideration, BRAD SHERMAN Member of Congress RECYCLED PAPER() ._..
