AND PENSIONS, CHAIR WASHINGTON, DC 20510-1502 August 12, 20 I 3 he Honorable Mignon Clyburn, Acting Chairwoman ederal Communications Commission 45 Twelfth Street S.W. ashington, DC 20536 ear Acting Chairwoman Clyburn, APPROPRIATIONS AGRICULTURE SMALL BUSINESS I am writing to you today regarding an Iowa company, Boomerang Wireless LLC. Since ecember 20 I 0, the company has had an application pending before the FCC seeking esignation as an eligible telecommunications carrier (ETC) for the purpose of offering services s pported by the Lifeline program. It is my understanding that Boomerang's application for , TC designation is one of the oldest, if not the o Ides!, awaiting action by the Commission. ioomerang received FCC approval of its Lifeline Compliance Plan in August 2012. dditionally, the company has had its application for ETC designation approved by 18 states us far. Moreover, the delay has meant that allowed other companies to gain market share at Boomerang's expense in states like New York and Florida, and prevents the company from t ecuting on its national business plan. ccordingly, I urge the FCC to process Boomerang's application for ETC designation as soon as ossible. I you have any questions regarding this issue, please contact Kia Hamadanchy on my staff at ia Hamadanch a)hel .senate. ov or 202-228-3940. I appreciate your prompt attention to this atter. 111 7TH AV NUE SE, BOX 16 S ITE 480 CEDAR R PIDS, lA 52401 (319) 365-4504 210 WALNUT STREET 733 FEDERAL BUILDING DES MOINES, lA 50309 (515) 284-4574 Tom Harkin ~L---~:"'~ZUŁ United States Senator 1606 BRADY STREET SUITE 323 DAVENPORT. lA 52803 1563)322-1338 350 WEST 6TH STREET 315 FEDERAL BUILDING DUBUQUE, lA 52001 (563) 582- 2130 320 6TH STREET 110 FEDERAL BUILDING SIOUX CITY. lA 51101 (712) 252-1550 0859
