Washington, D.C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418-0500 Internet: http://www.fcc.gov TTY: 1-888-835-5322 Released: October 1, 2013 Informal Transaction Shot Clocks Suspended During Lapse in Funding A Government-wide lapse in funding occurred on October 1, 2013, and the Commission’s informal 180-day time clock for review of transactions will be suspended. The individual time clock for each pending transaction will be stopped on the day of review that coincides with the last business day before the lapse in funding which is September 30, 2013. The informal time clocks will be restarted on the business day following the day of return to normal operations. Thus, for example, if a lapse in funding ended on a Monday, the Commission would return to normal operations on Tuesday morning, and the time clocks would be restarted on Wednesday. Finally, although the Commission will not be open for normal operations during any government-wide shutdown, it may be contacted in the case of an emergency affecting the safety of life or the protection of property at 202- 418-1122.
