The event will be hosted by Texas A&M University’s Bush School of Government and Public Service and will focus on the Federal Communications Commission’s Open Internet proceeding. “The FCC needs to go beyond the Beltway,” Commissioner Pai said. “We need to listen to members of the American public who would be impacted by the Commission’s proposed rules.” The field hearing will begin at 10:00 AM in the Hagler Auditorium of the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center, which is adjacent to the Bush School of Government and Public Service. Commissioner Pai added, “I am honored that the Bush School will host this forum. From his days as a Navy pilot during World War II to his time in the White House, President George H.W. Bush exemplified what the Bush School seeks to cultivate: professionalism and principle in public service. I can think of no better place to have a substantive discussion about one of the most important public policy issues facing our country.” Additional information about the event, including a list of panelists, will be provided in coming days.
