STATEMENT BY FCC CHAIRMAN TOM WHEELER ON VERIZON’S DECISION TO 
RECONSIDER ITS 4G NETWORK OPTIMIZATION PLAN 
WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Verizon Wireless announced its decision to reconsider plans to slow 
speeds for 4G unlimited data users. The following statement can be attributed to FCC Chairman Tom 
Wheeler. 
“I salute Verizon Wireless’s decision. This is a responsible action and I commend Verizon’s leadership 
on this issue.”
