FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION WASHINGTON OFFICE OF THE CHAIRMAN March 26,2015 The Honorable Mike Doyle U.S. House of Representatives 239 Cannon House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515 Dear Congressman Doyle: Thank you for your letter regarding the proposed acquisition of Time Warner Cable by Comcast Corporation. I appreciate hearing your views. I understand your concern with regard to our informal, 180-day transaction clock. As you note, the clock has been stopped at least twice during our review. Most recently, we stopped the clock as we await definitive guidance from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia on whether parties will have access to confidential material for potential use in submitting comments on the record. We continue to receive frequent submissions from the applicants and other interested parties. I can assure you that the Commission is conducting an open and transparent process as required by FCC rules and regulations, and we hope to conclude our review as quickly as possible. Again, thank you for your interest in the matter. Your letter will be made part of the official record of the proceeding.
