The transaction was first proposed more than a year ago, and, under your watch, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has been conducting a detailed review over the last eight months. I urge you to hold to the FCC's 180-day transaction clock and reject any further efforts to stop the clock; fully 242 days have already passed since the Commission began consideration of this transaction despite only I 61 days counting toward the clock due to numerous stops and starts. In that time both the House and Senate have held oversight hearings of this proceeding and the FCC's regulatory review has provided every opportunity for the public and stakeholders to pmticipate and comment. I commend you on this process as it has taken into account competition, investment, localism, diversity, innovation, and the public interest. As you know, Comcast has made significant investments in communities and non-profit organizations through direct and in-kind support in Pennsylvania and around the country. I support them wholly, and laud their commitment to philanthropic activism. Further prolonging this proceeding will only introduce greater regulatory unce1tainty into the marketplace; I urge you to act without further delay and complete consideration of this transaction in a full, fair, and expedient manner.
