106SHERROD BROWN OHIO COM MfTTCES: AGRICULTURE, NUTRITION, AND FORESTRY BANKING, HOUSING, AND URBAN AFFAIRS tinitrd ~tares ~cnatc WASHINGTON, DC 20510 - 3505 FINANCE VETERANS' AFFAIRS The Honorable Ajit Pai Chairman Federal Communications Commission 445 12th Street SW Washington, DC 20554 Dear Chairman Pai: February 13, 2017 In January ofthis year, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) annotmced the formation of a Broadband Deployment Advisory Committee (BDAC) to help develop strategies for expanding the deployment of broadband around the country. I would like to recommend that the FCC provide Martin Yodkovitz with full and fair consideration to serve on the BDAC where I am confident he could make a positive contribution to our nation's broadband policy. Mr. Yodkovitz has a considerable depth of experience in this sector. He has led the Walt Disney Company Strategic Innovation Group and prior to that served as the Senior Vice President for Corporate Strategy and Business Development at Disney. Mr. Yodkovitiz's experience further includes time as the President of TiVo, along with his many years of experience as a senior executive at NBC. Coupled with his more recent experience as a director with Cincinnati Bell he has a unique perspective on the best ways of expanding broadband deployment that the BDAC would find valuable. You have stated that the FCC will be selecting members for the BDAC "to balance the expertise and viewpoints that are necessary to address effectively the issues to be considered by the Committee."1 Mr. Yodkovitz provides precisely these qualities. Thank you for your fair consideration of this matter. Sincerely, M•« &UJ~J 1 https://apps.fcc.gov/edocs public/attachmatch/ DA- 17-11 OA l.pdf PAINTfD ON HECYCUO PAPER
