In order to help the FCC advance that goal, I am pleased to announce that I intend to establish the Advisory Committee on Diversity and Digital Empowerment. This Committee will be charged with providing recommendations to the FCC on empowering all Americans. For example, the Committee could help the FCC promote diversity in the communications industry by assisting in the establishment of an incubator program and could identify ways to combat digital redlining. “Once the paperwork to stand up the Committee has been completed, the FCC will issue a Public Notice soliciting membership applications and providing additional details about the Committee’s work.” ### Office of Media Relations: (202) 418-0500 ASL Videophone: 1-844-432-2275 TTY: (888) 835-5322 Twitter: @FCC www.fcc.gov/office-media-relations This is an unofficial announcement of Commission action.
