Washington1 D.C. 20554 Dear Chairman Pai1 lol4 Recetvet1 & Inspected .1111 24 2017 FCC Mall Room l write to applaud your leadership and the bipartisan effort undertaken by the FCC at the July Open Meeting to combat the scourge of unwanted robocalls. This is cons1stendy one of the top complaints l receive from my constituents and l appreciate the focus and act1on the Commission has taken on th1s issue. At best1 unwanted calls are a nuisance that invade the privacy of our citizens. At worst1 they are used by criminals to scam the Amer1can people1 particularly seniors. The effect is particularly pernicious when scammers are able to use Caller lD spoofing to hide the true source of the call1 leav1ng consumers with l1tde recourse. Taking a bipartisan approach to this 1ssue is so important. Crim1nals don1t care if their targets are Republ1cans or Democrats. The Commission1s work across party lines to put an end to the epidemic of unwanted calls 1s appreciated by me1 my constituents; and millions of people across our country. Most gratefully1 ~ ~ _/ ::b---..., (_ ___ -;/ttŁ _d~~ · 6-~· Eshoo . ~Member of Congress cc: The Honorable Mignon Clyburn1 Commissioner1 Federal Communications Commission The Honorable Michael 0 1R1elly1 Commissioner; Federal Commun1cations Commission ~11
