Media Contact: Evan Swarztrauber, (202) 418-2261 Evan.Swarztrauber@fcc.gov For Immediate Release STATEMENT OF COMMISSIONER BRENDAN CARR On New Staff Appointments WASHINGTON, January 18, 2017— Today, FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr announced that Will Adams has joined his office as Legal Advisor for wireless issues and that Andi Roane has joined his office as Staff Assistant. He also congratulated Nirali Patel on her move to the Chairman’s Office. “I am delighted that Will has agreed to join my office,” said Commissioner Carr. “Will brings a strong legal and policy background to the job, having worked in all three branches of the federal government in addition to the private sector. I look forward to drawing on his strategic advice and counsel as we put policies in place that will spur broadband deployment and help maintain the United States’ leadership in wireless.” After starting his career at the Department of Justice, Will clerked for Judge Timothy M. Tymkovich on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. He also served as Chief of Staff to U.S. Rep. Justin Amash before becoming the President of Red Door Strategies, a political consulting firm. Most recently, Will worked in public finance at Morgan Stanley on infrastructure matters. Will graduated from Harvard Law School, where he served as President of the Federalist Society. He received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. “I am also glad that Andi has agreed to join our team,” said Commissioner Carr. “Andi helped get my office up and running last August, so I am delighted that she has agreed to join us on a full-time basis.” Since returning to the FCC in 2014, Andi has served in various roles, including most recently as staff assistant to the chief of the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau. In prior FCC service, Andi served as the special assistant to the chief of the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. Previously, she worked as an executive assistant for more than two decades in the private sector. “I also want to extend my thanks to Nirali. Nirali is a standout lawyer that has served as a legal advisor in my office on wireless, media, and enforcement matters since August. She has been an invaluable member of the team, bringing a depth of knowledge and thoroughness to every issue she tackled. While we will miss her wise counsel, I want to congratulate Nirali on her appointment as Special Counsel in the Office of Chairman Pai.” ### Office of Commissioner Brendan Carr: (202) 418-2200 ASL Videophone: (844) 432-2275 TTY: (888) 835-5322 Twitter: @BrendanCarrFCC www.fcc.gov/about/leadership/brendan-carr This is an unofficial announcement of Commission action.
