(Terrier) submitted a fonnal request to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for a 60-day extension to comply with conditions contained in the Media Bureau's Memorandum Opinion and Order (Order) approving their acquisitions from Cox Enterprises, Inc. (Cox). I write to request that the Commission consider this request for an extension. Under the Order, Terrier was permitted to purchase both newspaper and radio entities formerly owned by Cox. However, to comply with the Order, Terrier is planning to reduce the publication schedule of the Dayton Daily News, Springfield News-Sun, and the Journal-News - all local Ohio print newspapers - from daily to no more than three days per week. Terrier fielded bids from buyers to complete divestiture from the Ohio newspapers in compliance with the Order, but has signaled the need for more time to complete the sale before the current January 16, 2020 deadline. I respectfully ask that Terrier's request for an extension be seriously considered in order to maintain full circulation of these critical newspapers that are so vital to communities in Ohio.
