FCC TO HOLD OPEN COMMISSION MEETING
BY TELECONFERENCE
WEDNESDAY, MAY 13, 2020

The Federal Communications Commission will hold an Open Meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, which is scheduled to commence at 10:30 a.m.  Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and related agency telework and headquarters access policies, this meeting will be in a wholly electronic format and will be open to the public on the Internet via live feed from the FCC’s web page at www.fcc.gov/live and on the FCC’s YouTube channel. Because of these special circumstances, the items listed below are expected to be voted prior to the meeting.

TITLE:  Review of the Commission’s Rules Governing the 896-901/935-940 MHz Band (WT Docket No. 17-200)
SUMMARY:  The Commission will consider a Report and Order that would realign the 900 MHz band to create a new six megahertz broadband segment to support the growing technological needs of our nation’s industries, while reserving the remaining four megahertz of the band for narrowband operations.

INTERNATIONAL 

TITLE:  Amendment of Parts 2 and 25 of the 
Commission’s Rules to Facilitate the Use of Earth Stations in Motion Communicating with Geostationary Orbit Space Stations in Frequency Bands Allocated to the Fixed Satellite Service
 (IB Docket No. 17-95); Facilitating the Communications of Earth Stations in Motion with Non-Geostationary Orbit Space Stations (IB Docket No. 18-315)
SUMMARY:  The Commission will consider a Second Report and Order and Report and Order that would adopt rules to facilitate the deployment of geostationary-satellite orbit and non-geostationary-orbit fixed-satellite service earth stations that operate while in motion.

TITLE:  Amendment of Section 73.3580 of the Commission’s Rules Regarding Public Notice of the Filing of Applications (MB Docket No. 17-264); Modernization of Media Regulation Initiative (MB Docket No. 17-105); Revision of the Public Notice Requirements of Section 73.3580 (MB Docket No. 05-6)
SUMMARY:  The Commission will consider a Report and Order that would modernize and simplify the written and on-air public notices broadcasters must provide upon the filing of certain applications.

WIRELINE COMPETITION
TITLE:  Assessment and Collection of Regulatory Fees for Fiscal Year 2020 (MD Docket No. 20-105); Assessment and Collection of Regulatory Fees for Fiscal Year 2019 (MD Docket No. 19-105)
SUMMARY:  The Commission will consider a Report and Order and Notice of Proposed Rulemaking. The Report and Order would level the playing field between domestic and foreign licensed space stations by assessing a regulatory fee on non-U.S. licensed space stations with United States market access. The Notice of Proposed Rulemaking would initiate the Commission’s annual regulatory fee proceeding.
