The auction produced gross proceeds in excess of $80.9 billion for licenses comprising 280 MHz of spectrum in the 3.7-3.98 GHz band. FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr issued the following statement: “Over the past few years, the FCC has made the tough calls needed to secure U.S. leadership in 5G. Chairman Pai deserves credit for freeing up the airwaves needed to power high-speed Internet services.
