These maps determine eligibility for federal programs funding broadband deployment that provide Hoosiers in our districts with an opportunity for access to high-speed broadband services. We were pleased to learn that the Commission recently established the Broadband Data Task Force (the "Task Force") to update broadband access maps. It is critical that future iterations of federal programs funding broadband development are targeted at those areas that are truly unserved and underserved, and we hope the Task Force will prioritize developing data in those areas. Over the last year, it has become increasingly clear that consumer access to adequate and dependable broadband is critical to advancing opportunities for Hoosiers to succeed in school and at work. Further, broadband connectivity is important to the future success of our healthcare system and capabilities. Simply put, accurate, up-to-date maps are the key to connecting the country. We look forward to working with you and the Task Force to develop real-time processes to update broadband maps, ensuring accurate representations of broadband access available to our constituents. Thank you for your attention to this important matter. Please let our offices know the status of the Commission's mapping efforts, including an estimated timeline for completion of broadband maps capturing Indiana's access. We hope that you will use each of our offices as a resource as you develop maps reflecting the broadband access available to our districts.
