COMMUNIC Federal Communications Commission TEACHER 45 L Street, NE Washington, DC 20554 COMMISSION October 28, 2022 Ms. Mystie Rail Assistive Technology of Alaska 1500 W 33rd Ave, Ste. 120 Anchorage, AK 99503 Dear Ms. Rail, This letter is to advise you that Assistive Technology of Alaska's (ATLA) conditional certification to provide National Deaf-Blind Equipment Distribution Program (NDBEDP) services in the state of Alaska has been converted to an unconditional certification on September 26, 2022. ATLA has met the condition placed upon its certification by submitting its requisite program audit reports, which have been reviewed and accepted by the NDBEDP Administrator, and there are no other conditions to be met. Thus, ATLA's certification is effective through June 30, 2027. After ATLA was advised that its certification would be conditioned upon the provision of requisite program audit reports to the Commission, I, as the NDBEDP Administrator, made several attempts by email and phone to reach you to check the status of the audits. You were not responsive and to date, still have not responded to any of my requests to speak with you. Please be advised that Commission rules allow for a $4,000 base forfeiture for failure to respond to Commission communications. 1 One key purpose of my role as the NDBEDP Administrator is to ensure the effective, efficient, and consistent administration of the program. Your unresponsiveness impeded my ability to carry out this responsibility. In our respective roles as NDBEDP Administrator and ATLA's Executive Director, prompt and responsive communication is essential. I trust that communication between us in the future will not continue to be a problem. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at (202) 418-1153 or Jackie.Ellington@fcc.gov. Thank you. Jacqueline Ellington Jacqueline Ellington NDBEDP Administrator 1 47 CFR § 1.80(b)(10).
